What's in a name?

As I'm writing this I still haven't figured out a proper name for this blog. I've had several blogs before which I've deleted and going back and using the name I did then is out of the question. 

Names are such a big thing, it's defining. When I write characters the names of them is always the last thing I can figure out. The looks, the personality, their dreams and aspirations and backgrounds... it all just comes to me, like they're introducing themselves to me and telling me all about them. Their names on the other hand is something I've got to work for. I'm always looking at naming sites trying to find the right name for the right character. I truly dislike using names of people I know and putting it to characters who either are too similar or too different from their namesake, it just feels unnatural to me in a way.

But what's in a name, as Juliet asks, something quite important I'd say. It gives you a sense of self, a sense of your place in the world. And when given the opportunity to name something yourself the importance of being able to connect with the name becomes all too real, for me. Hence I cannot just pick a domain name, I have to be able to feel it being a fair representation of me. But until then... I'll be but a faceless writer releasing her texts into the aether.
